Sprint has stated that the release of the HTC Hero will on the Sprint Network on  October 11, 2009 for a price of $179.99 (plus tax and all that other good stuff).

HTC Hero Now Virtually Confirmed for Sprint

The FCC has approved a CDMA version of the HTC Hero, adding to the large amount of evidence that this smartphone will be one of Sprint’s first with Google’s Android OS.

While there has yet to be an official announcement, there have been many leaks. For example, HTC’s support website recently contained a reference to “HTC Hero (Sprint)”.
