Back in July, Google rolled out a massive Android Market update that overhauled the look and brought a number of new features including new ways to discover applications and the ability to rent movies and purchase books right from your phone.
Google has just started rolling out an update to the Android Market 3.1.3. Aside from a few slight aesthetic changes, the two main features include the ability to +1 apps and password protect (PIN lock) your Android purchases.

Seems like Motorola Photon 4G has more motives to become a good phone to buy. An XDA member already unlocked the bootloaders. All it requires are two files (a third one if you’re counting the extra step to regain root) and an ability to follow easy directions. No more hassles with an expensive $100 multimedia dock to free your device. Once unlocked, flash the included system.img file to gain the root and get going. Don’t try to flash this file until you have confirmed that your bootloader is unlocked.

The successor to the popular Samsung Galaxy S, the Galaxy S II has hit the FCC and will be hitting Sprint soon. The leaked model number SPH-D710 boasts WiMAX connectivity and the drawings line up with the leaked Samsung Within pictures we saw from earlier this month.
The Sprint bound Samsung Galaxy S II will have both CDMA and WiMAX radios and matches the previous leaked image of the Samsung Galaxy S II aka Galaxy Within, an image that showed the Samsung Galaxy S II for Sprint with an 8 megapixel rear camera, along with word that the device will possibly run Android 2.3.4.

A leaked roadmap from inside Sprint tells us that they’re planning multiple devices to launch on August 21 like the Blackberry Torch 9850 that will feature an inspired Storm 2-style body design. What is more interesting about this would be the ability to offer users a chance to explore RIM’s Blackberry OS 7 (also known as the OS 6.1) which includes a new keyboard layout. For August 21st , Sprint will also release the Blackberry Bold 9930 and the Samsung Conquer 4G.
The Motorola Photon (MB855) will be dropping July 31, while the new BlackBerry Curve 9360 along with a few new Kyocera phones will be launching September 9. Also, a mysterious Motorola XT603 for the Fall and a ZTE tablet for Q1 2012 are the highlights of a new Sprint roadmap that leaked.

HTC just posted on its Facebook page that next August, it will start rolling out to unlock bootloaders of the newest devices like EVO 3D and Sensation 4G for T-Mobile. The process is two-fold: first, HTC pushes a “maintenance release” to the phones, but this won’t mean a thing until step two — releasing the actual unlocking tool — is complete in early September.
“We wanted to provide an update on HTC’s progress with bringing bootloader unlocking to our newest phones. We know how excited some of you are for this capability, and we’ve put significant resources behind making this change as soon as possible. While we wish we could flip a simple switch and unlock all bootloaders across our device portfolio, this is actually a complex challenge that requires a new software build and extensive testing to deliver the best possible customer experience.
We’re thrilled to announce today that software updates to support bootloader unlocking will begin rolling out in August for the global HTC Sensation, followed by the HTC Sensation 4G on T-Mobile USA and the HTC EVO 3D on Sprint. We’re in the testing phase for the unlocking capability now, and we expect it to be fully operational by early September for devices that have received the software updates. We’ll continue rolling out the unlocking capability over time to other devices as part of maintenance releases and new shipments. HTC continues its commitment to unlocking bootloaders and supporting the developer community.
Because of the importance of this community to us, please expect an update on this about every few weeks as we make progress toward launch. Thank you for your patience and continued support!”
