Sprint EVO 4G rumor date

By: Mark Tiedemann April 7th, 2010

Join with us as we take another ride in the rumor-mobile.  Our friends over at Engaget is reporting that June 13th might be the likely release date for the upcoming HTC EVO 4G device,  another rumor date being tossed around include June 6th, which both are on a Sunday.

Other interesting things to note is that there would be a $10-$20 add on for 4G data access, while others are reporting that that cost is for the 4G hotspot service and not for 4G access from the EVO itself.

Oh wow….I hope they pick June 6th, the Chicago Gospel Fest is that weekend i wanna stream some video and take some awesome pics with my new hot phone… Also, I thought there was an artical stating that they would not be charging for 4G service, and I hope they don’t charge for the hotspot feature…

My guess since the get go has been June 6th, and I am sticking with that date. As far as the add on price, I could definitely see then charging $10 to use the hot spot feature, because that is essentially PAM. They will not however charge to use 4G, I know that for a fact.

The sooner the better. I’d like June 6, but the 13th would be fine as well.
My Diamond is having issues and I’m ready to get something new. I’d be happy to be done with WM.

I think the timing is very poor AGAIN. Last year Sprint and Palm announced the Pre at the beginning of the year and waited until June to release it. iPhone 3gs stole their thunder. If Sprint and HTC wait until June, Apple will do it again with their new iPhone.

I think it would be in Sprint’s best interest to provide actual information as to the price and release date rather than to post rumors.
