Get 1GB/s Internet Speed In Your Hometown!

By: Chico February 18th, 2010

A few years ago Google was working on a fiber optics cable project that would allow you to get up to 1GB/s of internet speeds. That is 100 times faster than any average American has ever seen. Well, up until last Wednesday that did not seem to be a possibility. On February 10th, Google announced that they are planning on launching high speed fiber optic internet connections for at least 50,000 people and possibly up to 500,000 people. They are looking for people from different areas that interested in testing out this new service. If you are interested then just follow the source link and submit why you think your hometown should be one of the possible test markets for this great new service.

That would be awesome but I know that I speak for most of us that the cost would be a huge factor. I am holding my thoughts until that information becomes available.
