A900 Driver problems (modem)

Long time lurker, first time posting....

I DL'd the drivers from samsung's site- laptop didn't recognize the phone as a modem. I unistalled it.

DL'd software from Sprint's site- same thing. I uninstalled it.

Re-installed old drivers for A600 and it works like a charm. Anyone else have this problem? According to the connection icon, connect at 120 kbps. If the old drivers are bottlenecking my speed, I'd like to think that there is a way to make the new (A900) drivers work.

Any ideas?

TIA,
-Chuck

This is a computer issue.......not Sprint.

I had the same problem, and I just resolved it last night.

There is an uninstall located in the "drivers" folder of the Samsung download......use it. Then, use the setup.exe that is located within that same folder. Windows will keep telling you that the drivers are unsigned by them blah blah....just tell it Ok. THEN, I believe it asks you to restart the computer. After it's complete, just plug in the phone. Windows will detect it as a Samsung Composite Device, and should go through two different Add New Hardware things (one of them is the Modem).

It was trial and error, for me......but, I figured it out. And you DON'T need Sprint's Connection software. As for me, I'm just going to stick to Bluetooth DUN.

Thumbs up Thanks- problem resolved!

Thanks for figuring that out, FM. I had been unzipping the archive to a folder on my desktop like I usually do. When I unzipped to program files, everything fell into place.

For search purposes:

Correct installation of samsung modem driver for A900

1) Unzip samsung A900 drivers to "program files"
2) In the "Drivers" folder, run "SSCDuninstall.exe" if you have a previous installation from another phone, etc.
3) Run setup from the drivers folder. When the installation ends, plug in your phone.
4) Follow the prompts.

Done.

Thanks again,

-Chuck

So those scary messages about possible the drivers being untested for "Windows logo compatability" and os failure are nothing to worry about? And why does it prompt me to reinstall the driver every time I "Connect to PC?"
