sanyo data cable

I havent received it yet-it seems that the original cable set up had some issues with the mm8300 phone-so they had to update the data-cd??
at least that is what they have told me so far--and as of like friday?? when I called them-
they said it was finally being shipped--I am still waiting--
but--on another really kewl!! note--I managed to trade my silver mm8300 for THE RED!!!! one--oh ya!! its beautiful!!
the sprint store wasnt going to do it--but they finally let me ..
and I tell ya what--red is a beautiful thang!!
and since my life isnt so great--its a small plus finally.
but I will let you know whenever the data cable finally shows up.

sorry-- a ps here--
I would call the place you purchased it from-because the place I bought from-held my shipment-and like I said-when I called about where it was-they stated that issue related to some of the functions not working with the mm8300--and that they were making a newer? or corrected?? data cd...and the guy was really nice and informative on the phone about it.
so hopefully that means they solved the glitches--
and since I still havent gotten it yet-I cant answer other than to call your seller and see about getting a corrected version of the cd??
and lets hope that it really is.
let me know how it works out for you and I will also do the same.

Software you're talking about is from Mobile Action, right? I'm trying to decide between bitpim (which is free) or MA (which is most affordable of paid software and seems best.

So, did you get software? Please give us your review of it.

I just purchased the data sync cable. The tech reported that Sprint decided to block modem access on the MM-8300. The cable will allow you to sync your other phone features to your PC, such as contacts, pictures, ringtones and calendar items as well.

No. This is an accessory. It is allows you to connect your phone to your PC and sync your data without going into the Sprint store and having them tell you they can't do it!
; )

If you click on the link or paste this in your browser -http://www.3Gcables.com. The cost is $15.90 including shipping. The software that comes with this is reported to be better than Mobile Action, which tracks many customer complaints. If you were to purchase the same on Ebay it starts at $35.oo and up. The other software you can purchase is on www.susteen.com and www.futuredial.com. Keep in mind that you continue to support SprintUsers by patronizing 3G cables...and let's also mention the EXCELLENT Customer service, 3Gcable provides.
I'm a happy customer! -V

My experience at www.3Gcables.com is the tech is VERY helpful!!! I asked questions there before I made the purchase. Even if you have to purchase another cable it's only $15.90. Pretty good deal imho. I plan to keep my new cable in my briefcase and use my other on my desktop. I'm gonna be a sync'ing fool. Anyone who travels knows the frustrations of disconnecting and reconnecting your cabling and keeping track of your cables on the road. This just simplified the process for me. http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/new...ply&p=1014607#

error using USB cable to sync 3100 w/ WinXP

I know this thread is a bit old, but:

I'm trying to sync my 3100 with WinXP. Have USB cable and CD w/ "Connectivity Adapter Cable" drivers/utilities for ...XP but neither of my 3100s work on either of my WinXP computers. Error is: "USB Device not recognized." There must be a way to sync. Any thoughts? Obviously I'm new to this but lots of you seem to have lots of experience. Thx. :Dani
