Any possible workaround or hack for 8300 #777?

Man, I knew I shoulda checked this forum before recommending a buddy new to Sprint to get the 8300. He and I use our phones as modems all the time since we take a lot of road trips, and he's bumming about our recent discovery that the 8300 lacks DUN functionality. Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this? If not, are there any still-available Sanyo phones that support #777?

A dialing code of sorts.......used by your computer to access Sprint's Data service via your phone. That's the basic answer.

DUN is "Dial-Up Networking"

And like FloorMatt said above, #777 allows you to connect to Sprint's data network through your computer -- allowing you to use it like a data card... but going through your phone.

The name I post under comes from a particular game series that I have a particular affection for... Search Google, you'll find it.

I belive you could try the Sanyo 7400 if you like the brand...I am pretty sure that one works with #777 but the 8300 and 5600 do not...verify this info though before making a switch...I thought I read that somewhere here in the forums though...
