Unhappy Red X on Sanyo MM8300

My wife and I just got new Sanyo MM8300s and we love them except the fact that it doesn't ring sometimes, most noticeably at home. I have repeatedly duplicated the "no ring" event. The phone will make no noise but it will have a red X in the middle of the outer display that flashes and that is it. Next thing I know I have missed the call. Anyone else have this happening or know what the red x means? Did not see anything in the user manual. Oh yea, I am on the sprint network when I miss the calls.

I had the same problem. I took it to the store and they found that it had stored a bogus ring as my normal ring. I went through each contact in my address book and had to manually change the ringer to the one I wanted.

If you do a phone book swap at the sprint store FUTUREDIAL will assign one of the demo apps (fox sports) as the default ringet for all the enteries in the pb. this is not a bug of the phone, but a bug in Futuredial that is a known issue and is being corrected at the stores with a push of an updated futuredial for that phone. The handsets are not defective. The reason there is no noise is because it is an Application.

yeah they fixed that finally...a customer had their phone replaced 3 times before I realized what the problem was
