Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo 4

Recently I have rented both games and wanted to figure out which one I enjoyed more. I first rented Forza and thought the graphics were decent, and the racing was fast and fun. I also thought that the tracks were very well thought out along with the racing line (telling you when to hit the pedal to the metal and braking). With Forza, I upped the difficulty to 50% (Hard A.I., Manual trans, & Simulated damage), and I thought that the racing was either a hit or a miss. Either you won the race off the line at the beginning or you obtained 2nd place throughout the race never being able to catch that first place car. This I thought was very frustrating, and not really that great of 'racing' in my opinion. So my rental period ended and I picked up GT4. I thought the graphics were decent for ps2 and the racing at first seemed too easy. Then I actually played some races that were a little harder and I honestly think that the racing in this game has better gameplay then Forza. Another issue I thought with Forza was that I was finding the tracks a little bland. I like their design a lot, but the detail in the surroundings really didn't cut it for me. I'm not trying to be biased at all, I love my ps2 and xbox and right now since both games are great, it's hard for me to decide which one to purchase. For those who have given both of these titles a chance, let me know what your opinion is.
Thanks in advance,
-Mike

I Prefer Forza. Once U Get To Some Of The Harder Races It Is More Difficult. After Playing Every Gt Game 4 Just Didnt Do It For Me Anymore And I Just Felt Forza Was More Realistic. Though I Dont Play With The Racing Line And I Play With Automatic Transmission. I Do Wish They Would Release More Cars For Forza.

GT4 for me, thank you. It may not be as pretty as Forza, but I find the game physics to be a bit more realistic, even with the more primitive physics engine they're using. Any racing game feels wrong compared to the real thing, with there being no way to tell how your car is pulling through a turn, and the like. But comparing my relatively sparse experiences in autocrossing with other cars, GT4 seems to be a bit more consistent than Forza.

I played Forza over a period of a few days visiting a friend of mine out-of-town. It was alright, but the more and more I played, the more and more 'off' it felt to me. I just stopped playing entirely, however, when my friend's younger cousin raced me. When he started 'drifting' his front-wheel drive car around the track using applications of emergency brake and accelerator, I just had to drop the controller and move away....
