Call Tones FAQs

What are Call Tones?

Usually, when one makes a call he or she hears a ringing tone as (s)he waits for the recipient to answer the phone. By using Call Tones, one can replace the ringing tone with a song, sound, clip from television, etc.

How much does a Call Tone cost?

Call tones are currently $1.50 and $2.50 each depending on the tone.

How do I download a Call Tone?

A Sprint customer can use either of two ways to download a Call Tone. To download Call Tones from the Sprint website, sign in to My PCS. Toward the bottom of that page, you should notice a link that reads: See All Call Tones. Click this link and from there you can browse and download all Call Tones.

Sprint customers may also download Call Tones using just their phone. Downloading by phone is a lot like downloading ringers, screen savers, applications, etc. First, use your Vision PCS phone to access the web. Then select the Call Tones category and select Go. Search for your item, select it, and select Buy. Next, select Download and the Call Tone will be saved in your Downloads menu on your phone.

Can I have the normal ring for some callers and a Call Tone for others?

Yes. The option exists to assign a Call Tone to specific numbers and leave the normal ring for others.

What are the settings available for assigning for whom the Call Tone will be heard?

You can set up Call Tones to ring for specific individual numbers, for all incoming calls, or you can set the Call Tones to only ring during specific dates and times.

Can I use a different Call Tone for each of my callers?

Yes. You can set up each Call Tones to ring for a specific individual number.

I don’t see anywhere to download Call Tones; am I doing something wrong?

Usually, the problem of not seeing a link to download Call Tones is related to living in an affiliate market. Unfortunately, Call Tones are not available for affiliate customers.

I don’t have a Vision phone, can I use Call Tones?

No, you must have a Vision phone in order to take advantage of Call Tones.

I live in an affiliate market. Can I use Call Tones?

No, at this time Call Tones are not available to affiliate customers.

Can I make and use my own custom Call Tone?

No, at this time the only possibility is to use the Call Tones that Sprint provides.
