The display on this, pixel for pixel, is pretty bad in comparison to say... the Toshiba 4050 :-P. The refresh rate is too low for a gaming console. Oh, and MS Duo wrecks pretty much any usability this thing has as a convergence device. Way to go sony- keep building crappy japanese products.

I don't get why people are so bitter about the PSP. Whenever electronics get overhyped, there are people who are genuinly pissed off about SOMETHING the manufacturer did wrong. I don't get it. This is the first 3D handheld gaming system available on the market. To even compare it against the "standard" (gameboy) is ludicrous, because its such a different product.

I guess everyone has their own opinions, but every complaint I've ever read about the PSP have been a joke (except the dead pixel issue - but thats Samsung's fault). Who cares if it uses MS Duo? Everyone seemed to not have a problem with the PS using proprietary memory cards. At least the MS Duo will be good in SOME things. There's even adapters for it to be used in MS Pro slots.

Yep, still loving the PSP. (+[_____]:: )
As for the PSP bashing, it happens with any device. There will always be "Fanboys" and people that like to stir the pot and create discussion. It can become annoying when a few people are thread-jacking with the same negativity.
Most of the people that I have run into that say nothing but bad things about the PSP have never actually played with the unit. I usually throw in the Spider-man2 movie followed by THUG2 and let them have at it for 15 minutes. I finish with a photo slideshow, a few MP3's and some SouthPark episodes saved on the evil MS Pro Duo. Their opinion changes pretty quickly after that.

I just got mine. I went to game stop, and traded my ps2, 8 games, 3 mem cards, 2 controllers, a gameboy advance and 3 gameboy advance games, and got a PSP and a game! I know I gave up a hellza lot but I haven't played my ps2 in a few months, so I'm okay with it. I'm totally loving it right now! I got Wipeout Pure and holy hell, that game is so amazing...I had Dynasty Warriors, but took it back right away...just...eh...not a huge fan of the series. I'm happy with mine. I got a couple video clips, a few pictures, and a few mp3s on the 32 MB card. I'm gonna look for a really cheap 1 GB card, but until then, I think I can make due.

Totally worth it.

If you find a really cheap 1GB card.........don't hold out on us, show us where the stash is

I got WipEout Pure when I got my PSP, also........it sure is wow

I've also played Twisted Metal: Head On, NFSU:Rivals, Ridge Racer, and Lumines. I rented all of those from GameFly.......I almost didn't want to send Ridge Racer back! Not sure what's coming to me next.....I put some on the top that had a wait.

I'm looking online, and so far, I've found a 1 GB card for $115 here:

http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail~dpno~651408.asp

I know I've seen it online for $105 somewhere, but I can't remember....

I saw some pix of Ridge Racer...is it really as awesome as it looks? Cuz if so...then that maybe my next game. I just got Metal Gear Ac!d yesterday...haven't had time to play it too much yet though. I also want to get Darkstalkers cuz I'm a fighting game fanatic...that, and RPGs, but Gamestop sold out of those...=(

I'll keep searching for cheapo cards and post them if/when I find them.

Ridge Racer sure is! I think it was bluecoyote that said there was some ghosting issues with Ridge Racer.......I can't say that I saw anything visually that detracted from the gameplay. And the opening movie/sequence......amazing. The nitrous system is a nice feature......your tanks get filled up the more you do high speed drifts. Anyways......very good game......I didn't want to put it down after I got into the World Tour mode.

I have Untold Legends coming in the mail from GameFly........so, we shall see how it is. I can't say that I'm a big RPG fan.....but, we shall see.
