Question How to make ringers for AT&T/Cingular?

hey everyone.. i have been an anonymous viewer of the forum for a while, and a lot of the stuff here has been very useful.

i am actually a qwest customer, but they use vision services from sprint. ive got the sanyo 8200, and i love it.

ive used sites like mbuzzy.com and smashthetones.com to get ringers to my phone, but i wanted to be able to host my own. so i used the tutorial here that uses GCDcreator to make the gcd files and the qcp files. awesome stuff.

but i'd also like to be able to make them available on AT&T/Cingular as well. i believe this would just involve a differnt data pointer [gcd equal] for whatever AT&T/Cingular uses. but i dont know..

ive also seen people talking about ACC files, what are those? thanks for any imput, and i hope to become a contributing member of this forum

yeah i believe i can use the same qcp files because my friends all have phones that support real ring tones, i just know i have to change the pointer file. because sites like 3gforfree.com ask you what service you use, so i assume it just directs to the GCD equivalent for that carrier.

now if i could just get my damn website to come up on vision...

maybe i'm going crazy, or maybe i'm just really impatient..

i havent been able to get to my wap site since i got home from work. it worked fine last night when i first got the ringtone downloads working, and now it cant seem to connect to any of the sites on that server...

every other website i've hit works fine, but i cant seem to hit mine..

anyone willing to try http://releasethefury.net/wap/index.html in their vision browser? i just get the Page unavailable with a link to the vision homepage. getting really annoying..

my roommate has an AT&T phone. Somehow we found out you can send a ringer or image to his phone by sending a text message and puttting a "H" in front of it, then when he gets the text message he has a "Go To" option and he can download it. for example, if i send "h http://www.dbringers.info/ringersv6/RyanCabrera-True.qcp" as a text to him he can download it.
I'm not sure if this works for all ATT & Cingular because he got his phone before the merger, he was att before, but it might help you.
And also the qcp file format should work for all Att/Cingular, Verizon, etc

some people use different carriers. as you can see, the OP has gotten some answers.

it's not always necessary to make a comment.

he uses a sprint service and has a sprint phone. and i don't think this question really goes out of bounds of what this forum is; it was posed in relation to sprint's scheme of GCD's and such.. and if it is out of line for the forum, the moderators will address that.

what kind of phone? Motorola's are notoriously hard to upload ringtones to.

my latest question, however was not answered.. can anyone hit that site from their vision phone? i still cant access it. i am starting to wonder if its my web host blocking it [very unlikely] or if its sprint blocking it? i dont see why the would, ive been able to view my site from my phone since i got it. now all of a sudden i put ringers on there and it doesnt work? seems fishy to me..
