How much does long distance to Canada cost?
I didn't think it would connect after I hit dial to call a friend from Canda back... but it did. How much is this going to cost? Its only a few minutes. I thought you had to add long distance to your plan first.
Now I have an ominous extra line on my current usage.

$0.42/minute.
It's not bad if you only do it once or twice...12 minutes is under $5.

FOR $7/month, the LD rate to Canada goes down to $0.09/min with the "Call Canada" option

Roaming is $ 0.60 / min. Or you can add a $3 Canada roaming plan and reduce the cost to $0.30 / min including long distance (when calling Canada/USA from Canada). |

Plus they charge you $0.25/minute extra for LD if you're calling a non-local number.

Damnation, that's ridiculous. "Call Canada" is a fairly good deal... $.10 isn't bad- compare it to other provider's rates. I just wish they'd take it out of my minute pool. Let me use half of my minutes to call Canada. It's Canada for cripes sake!

Yeah, all of my Canadian friends who live in the US use Verizon which treats Canada like the US with respect to minutes, for $5 a month. Nights and weekends really make it worth it.

I'm not sure what plan that was, but I don't think they had good rates while in Canada, just calling there. I do remember that unlimited nights and weekends were included, I could try to find out what plan it was.

I think they must have been the lucky America's Choice plan holders who can call to Canada with no Long Distance charges. I tried to get that once but was told that LD to Canada was 20c/min from here in Pittsburgh. It all has to do with where your plan is set up. In New Jersey and NYC, you don't get charged. Here in PGH, you do.

I use a third party plan, which gets Canadian calling down to 1.9cents/minute with no monthly service charge.
