sounds like you blocked the hole in the case where the microphone picks up your voice. if you can, take the case apart and clean out the hole. if you can't take it apart, be careful about poking anything in there cuz you could rupture the microphone element.

you can let it air out, but if the mic got wet it might be fried.

It may need to be put out of its misery

Just a quick snap of the neck (hinge).......and send it to Cell phone heaven. May ye rest in pieces, Sanyo 5300. Boohoo I miss mine.

Perhaps a fine bristled brush......sweep it out a little.

I run my phone through the washing machine once and a while. Not on purpose, but that seems to keep if very clean and I have never had a problem with it.

Maybe a couple days later after you open it up and pray that the circuit board didnt get damaged!

If your gonna wash your phone, take the battery off!

take 90% rubbing alcohol and pour it over the are where the soda spilled several times. Wipe it off as best as possible, Then let the phone dry fully. See if that helps.

Yeah....that's what I need to do to my In-ear headphones......darn wax! At least rubbing alcohol evaporates pretty good.
