Help I'm addicted to MMORPG's!

For those who do not know what MMORPG's are they stand for Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games. Everquest is an example that most people may know.

I remember when I was a young boy playing my Atari... Then Nintendo came out... woah, those were the days.. then Super Nintendo.. I thought things couldn't get any better. After that.. I got my first CD system.. the Sega Saturn. I duel wielded with the Sony Playstation (Bought them both as soon as I felt I was old enough to work and afford them myself). That was it.. there was no topping them.. then I discovered PC game.. which were cool. A lot of polygonic graphics, but nice. it was HERE (between PS1 and PS2) that I got my Sega Dreamcast with the first MMORPG (debatable) that I've ever played. Phantasy Star Online.. I was addicted.. for like 2 months staright I played this game religiously. Then I played many others. Now I'm stuck on World of Warcraft. But I tell everyone that tells me that I need to get off these games the same statement: "Rather be addicted to games than addicted to drugs"... I'm drug free.. sure I drink a little, but I don't smoke or touch any of that nastiness.

there is a third option - no drugs and no pc games - reality is not such a bad place to be

I used to play that until I discovered World of Warcraft. Now I'm addicted to a heavier game (in my opinion of course).

Yeah man, alot of people love those games. My OLDER brother plays WOW all the damn time. Before that it was COH (city of heroes). The games are awesome but I like application playing better than game playing. I'll sit there for 8 hours at a time messing with photoshop, or learning flash, but after an hour of a game I get frustrated. Maybe cause I absolutely suck at games?

I CAN MANIPULATE A PHOTO BETTER THAN YOU THOUGH!!!!!!!

I'm the same way. Sometimes I'll get hooked on a game I try, but it is rare.

I grew up around video games (as you can tell from my original post) so it sort of comes second nature to me. I can actually pick up a brand new game I have never played before and mess with it for about 10 min and figure out how to control the the game perfectly and play it like a pro. It might sound geeky or whatever, but I assure you, I've won quite a bit of cash in the fighting game tournaments they hold. I won a silver gamecube, lots of cash, ALMOST won a car (I suck at racing games so that was a no go).

I suck at playing games, but love to try anyways.. and since I'm paid to mess with apps, it's not as much fun as it used to be.. Although I still dink around with Photoshop a lot..

If it wasn't for the insane monthly fee I would probably be playing MMORPGS all day too. I used to be hooked to games and it was getting pretty bad, but I'm proud to say I've been video/comp game free for a of couple years now. I'll play an occasional game now and then, but I'm not hooked anymore. Maybe someone should open up a V.G.A.A. (Video Game Addicts Anonymous)???

Yep. Did anyone see that episode of True Life on MTV awhile back about people getting hooked on games? Some guy went to work like 3 hours late because he couldn't get himself off his xbox and he was all messed up at work because he didn't get any sleep from gaming all night. I know the show's staged but it makes you think how bad addictive gaming can be.

I remember a guy I used to go to high school with that ditched school so that he can stay home and play Counter-Strike. He ditched school for 2 months straight and finally went to school.. only because his video card got messed up and he need to pick up a spare one from one my friends. After that, I've never seen him since.
