Is there any way to find out what company owns Metro PCS or other affiliates? Is this "privileged" information, and if so, why?

Yep, thats who I was referring to....I just had never heard of them and a $450 million bid for more bandwidth seems excessive for anything but a huge company!

They only cover six metropolitan areas....and the plans are unlimited anytime minutes. They *NEED* the bandwidth.

Sure it is....if you are in the Bay Area or Sacramento.

Metro's concept is good but their lack of roaming options kills the deal. Also too many users in Miami so there is not bandwith for everyone and quality suffers. But they are still big among high school and college kids as well as some of the older crowds...

Yeah they are real big in Atlanta but they are the epitome of crap from VERY unprofessional customer service reps to someone being able to reactivate your phone even after you report it stolen to 30 second voicemail message limits to very spotty coverage (especially if your outside the city limits and pushing suburbia).
