Kyocera 7135 Smartphone Question

I have access to a Kyocera 7135 Smartphone, the one with the PDA and MP3 player, all the bells and whistles, I currently have SprintPCS service which I want to keep. Problem is this phone is not "programmed" for Sprint's network... any Sprint Techs or anyone who can tell me if and/or how I can get the Smartphone to work on my Sprint service and will I be able to do this "Legally?" From what I gather, Sprint will not touch the phone.

Can't be done. Unless you know someone who has access to the ESN tables in Sprint. But NO ONE knows that person. He or she is probably one of those people who have no family or friends and Sprint keeps them locked up in the dungeon. Or, perhaps more likely, it was a child raised in the dungeon who has no comprehension of the outside world.

Anyway, to make a long story short, it won't happen.

Yeah, I have this phone 7135 for sprint right now. A friend (who also has this phone for sprint through ebay and I got my own on ebay shortly thereafter), this phone was originally offered by sprint when it came out in December 2002 but was taken off the market after 3 months. Why I don't know. Anyhow, it works great and all. It even works to send data msgs, surf, all that at double phone line speed. It is the best pda phone in my opinion, and I hope Kyocera releases another one soon like it... Palm's OS may not be MS window friendly but hey, it works for what I want. However, if you don't find a phone that came from sprint originally, it must be flashed for sprint's network with the right ESN. It's all about the ESN being "cleared" for sprint. If you want to get this phone for sprint, then get the esn before you buy and call sprint *2 and make sure it is "cleared" for sprint according to a representative. this ensures that the phone hasn't been stolen and appears in their Esn list. hope this helps.

Through what distributor channel did Sprint offer the 7135?

I never remember Sprint offering this phone through any of their channels i.e. consumer, business, government, etc.

You'll have to get service through VZ. From what I know SPCS will not activate a phone that doesn't belong to them.

I didn't even know SPCS offered this phone, I always thought it was through VZ. Hmmmm, you learn something knew everyday.
