Security Code for VGA1000...little help
Ok, here goes, yesterday I got a VGA1000 from a friend of mine at work that got it from somebody he knows. My friend (Fred) buys all my old phones (cheap) when I upgrade so he gave me the VGA for free. Well, of course I want to do a reset on the phone to erase the phonebook and downloads and everything in one swoop and of course I don't have the security code to get into the settings to do that. I tried the last four of the phone number and that doesn't work. Fred said he thinks it's the last 4 of the guys SSN which he doesn't know and I don't know if the other guy would tell him. I would like to either use the phone as a back up in case something happens to mine or, I might upgrade the second line on my account, my mother whose still using my old N400
The VGA is a little banged up, looks like it's been dropped a time or two, (nothing a case or trusty spray paint won't fix) but it seems to work fine and I'm sure she'd probably like it better than the N400.I thought I remembered seeing a ## code on here somewhere that would display your secuity code but I could just be going crazy. If there is a code that can do that I'd appreciate it if someone would post it so that I don't have to spend all the time on *2 trying to get the MSL so I can do a factory reset on the phone. Or if some nice Sprint tech on here wants to help me out I'll PM them the ESN if they'll PM me the MSL so I can reset the phone. Thanks for any help/replys you guys offer and thanks for taking the time to read all this mess. Dave |

Make it easy on yourself, take it to a Sprint store and ask them to wipe it out for you.

Yeah, I know I can do that. I just don't want to make the drive if I don't have to. |

yea, try the last 4 digits of the phone #
check into the menu and the 'My phone number' option if you dont want to activate it first. You may have to though if the previous user changed the code. |
