Resetting my A700 to the factory defaults

Hi all,

What "Service Code" do I need to enter for my Samsung A700? Yes, I know it's a dangerous command, but the Sprint folks refuse to help me, so I need to fix the problem myself.

Its particular to the specific phone you have. Their is not universal msl to get into your phone.

I tried to use BitPim on my phone (after not being able to get the SnapSynch software that I paid for to work) and now my phone can't send/receive data through the phone-to-PC cable. I later read that using BitPim will cause this problem. I've been told to enter ##786# to reset the phone to the factory defaults, but the phone is asking me for a "Service Code".

You can always just take your phone to a Sprint store and have them refurbish the phone.

I've tried taking my phone to a Sprint store and haven't had any luck. The first store I went to lied and said the tech would be there until 6:30. When I got to the store at 6:05 they said "Sorry, our tech leaves at 6:00!". I went to another store, waited line over an HOUR, gave the rep my phone and told them to reload the firmware, they gave me back my phone 45 minutes later and hadn't done SQUAT to it. I went back later that night and said "I want the firmware reloaded on this phone". The rep went back to the tech and talked for several minutes. He then came back to the counter and said "Sorry, we don't have the cable to reload your phone yet. The manufacturer hasn't supplied us with one yet!" So, basically the first time I took my phone there for service, they didn't do ANYTHING to it. They lied and said that they did. If I hadn't signed a two-year contract, I would have left Sprint and their crappy customer service a couple of weeks ago.

So, is there a way to get the Serive Code / MSL without dealing with the *********s at Sprint (both the store reps and CSRs) and without using a data cable?

You want to have the phone refurbished. The cable for your phone is the same as the a620, 660, 680. The stores have your cable. If they dont have the cable just ask them to set your phone back to factory defaults with the msl. Don't ask them to reload the firmware just ask for the phone to be refurbed.

Service Code for the Samsung A700 is 781435

OMG!

I'm on the phone with Sprint Customer Service right now. The Service Code is 781435. I don't believe it! A Sprint CSR actually knows their ****! This is amazing! Am I in a dream?!?! I was able to reset my phone and the rep is now guiding me through reprogramming my Vision user name, the IP addresses, my phone number, etc. I don't believe it!
