Is there a thread here somewhere in which you explain all of the steps you sent through to customize the color of the phone and make it look this good? What did you do to prep the phone? What kind of paint did you use? Is there a clear coat covering on it? Please point me to this useful (and hopefully detailed) info (and I'll feel like a total dumb***** if you tell me it's in the FAQ). Thanks.

Is there a thread here somewhere in which you explain all of the steps you sent through to customize the color of the phone and make it look this good?

-- No there isn't a thread or anything I just took this up one day on my vm4500 and have completed now 2 other vm4500s and im working on an 8100 right now which will be done in a couple days (same color as my first project).

What did you do to prep the phone?

-- basically just took the whole thing apart taped off the back and certain areas I thought shouldn't have paint on them for example the front face plate the little metal speaker hole and mini lcd window. Then sprayed the phone with a grey sandable primer which I ordered off the paint website.

What kind of paint did you use?

-- House of Kolor car model air brush paint. off this website www.blackgoldweb.com Jack the owner is a VERY friendly and helpful person. They are based in Texas and always accept phone calls with questions conerns and orders. Very nice shop and online store! If you want to know exaclty what paint to order I will direct you to the primer, base coats, paint, and clear coat you should purchase. You will also need acrylic laquer thinner which you can't order off that website. Jack reccommend looking at autobody stores near you to purchase this but I just went to www.paintscratch.com and ordered a couple bottles. Reasonably fast shipping and decent prices.

Is there a clear coat covering on it?

-- Yes theres 2 clearcoat covers on it.

Please point me to this useful (and hopefully detailed) info (and I'll feel like a total dumb***** if you tell me it's in the FAQ). Thanks.

-- No prob anymore questions ask away love to help if your intrested taking this project up. I'm still a noob at doing this since this is only my 3rd completed phone so as you can see its not THAT hard. But it does require attention to detail, skill, and PLENTY of patience!!!!!!!

well i try to buff out scratches before i paint them with the sandable primer first i sand the color that was scratched or chipped then i just spray a couple coats of primer on the area and sand even and paint over it. other than that i have no idea maybe just sanding them out even i dunno how well that would work again im no expert.
