thanks everyone for the quick response - we got the testers we needed and found a few bugs (ringtone creation) that we will address before release (I know, I know I'm bad with release dates!)

Tomorrow we will have another update, hopefully with ringtone creation fixed...and also look out for another big announcement soon

Hi All,

I helped out with a few tests and it works like a charm!

All of my mp3's on my computer can be played through my cell phone, and the quality is that of an AAC ringer. I played a handful of my mp3's and they sounded awesome!

I was so used to the qcp sounding song files, and was really shocked at how great these songs sounded on my phone.

Good job guys!!

Also - all a700 users who's trials have expired will be automatically extended when the AAC enabled m2audio is released.

If you want someone to test with Virtual PC on a Mac let me know. I have the older version working from my G4.

Thumbs up Can't wait for the full support

Guys, this Streaming ACC for the MM-A700 rocks! It's one of those things I didn't know I needed till I got to use it. Eclipxe graciously let me help out in the beta test, and my lowly vocabulary is holding me back from accurately describing it's fantasticality.

Sound Quality is Great. For the fact that it's little tiny Mobile Phone speakers, it's perfect. I plugged in headphones, and it doesn't sound distorted, tinny, garbled, or low quality. It's not CD audio, but if you expected that, then you must live a life of constant dissapointment and misery! Loading time is Good, I'd say it's 10-15 seconds or less per 5min song. Controls are responsive, and I haven't found a bug yet. I say yet because there are so many options that I haven't gotten to everything yet.

My professional recomendation is that you RIGHT NOW get in on the trial. I think I read that if you have an A700 they'll hook you up with ACC support when they get it up to perfect standards that I know these guys strive for.

Michelle - it works with VPC We had a user that posted in the other thread - I am not entirely sure how to set it up (no mac here) but I will speak with him and get directions so we can post it on the site.

That was me. I posted somewhere on what I had to do to get it to work. The complexity is increased because you are dealing with two distinct problems. One that everyone has to deal with which is your firewall and inbound port mapping. The other is from VPC itself which has a rather odd networking model. In the default mode, VPC acts like a router and does NAT to your Macs network stack. In the other mode, it acts like a switch (called virtual switch mode). This allows the VPC machine to get its own IP address from your LAN. This is the mode you have to use which makes setting up networking on Windows even more work because you have to assign an IP--you can't use an IP assigned from DHCP because of the forementioned need for inbound port mapping.

Found the previous post on how to set up m2Audio with VPC:
