How To Creat Own PHONE Web Page

I searched the FAQ, but did not find any info.

Can someone please explain (or point) the process on how to construct a web page that my VM4050 PCS phone can use?

I found how to set the default starting web page on my VM4050.

What I would like to do, is to have a web page with quick links to things like local traffic maps, etc.

Thanks

The easiest way is just to use plain HTML and make the fonts, etc. small enough for your phone.

Here's an example of the one I created. Feel free to take a look at the source and copy what you need.

Cool thanks.

I was under the impression that it required fancy setup.

Couple more questions along the same lines:

If my setup automatically updates the web page every minute with say a graph (like traffic updates), will it also update on my cell phone screen automatically every minute?

Can this cause problems with Sprint saying that I am using too much bandwith eventhough I have unlimited PCS web access?

If my web page has sounds, will I hear it on my phone?

nothing special, just make use small fonts and make very graphic unintensive... i've set up a forum that cost me absolutley nothing (as long as you don't count the costs of the server i rent) and works just as well as the wiforum (sprintusers.com is an example of a wiforum) which costs around 130 bucks.

you can check it out by visiting www.cincitydevils.com (on your phone or pc) and selecting the "i'm browsing using my phone" link.

If anyone is interested in how i set it up, register on that forum and message motorpsycho

There is mine. It's not done yet though.

1 <a accesskey=1 href="messaging.html">Messaging</a><br>

That will make it so that if you hit the # 1 on the keypad, it will bring you to my messaging page. Just look at the source code of my page for an example (you can browse to it from your pc or phone).

So, do the number links actually work with the dialpad on your phone?
(i.e. Pressing 1 on the dial pad will take you to it's corresponding link).

UPDATED 10:20AM: Oops, sorry...I need to read the thread.

While the content conversion engine will convert from html to xhtml, it would be wise just to write it in xhtml. Its a little more strict and requires alltags to be closed. Any tag that does not have a closing counterpart (ie, br or hr) must be escaped out with a slash.

Look at:

http://nwrs.net/traffic/ -- Seattle Traffic

http://nwrs.net/emrg/ -- Live 911 call stream from Seattle

Not only do these pages work on all SprintPCS phones, but it will even work with the touchy GSM handsets.
