Successfully streamed live TV to a i600 !

I have finally got the i600 to work with streaming live Television from my home cable television. I still have to tweak the video and audio to look good, and balance that with the buffering, but so far the results look pretty damn good. It is free, thats better than the $25/month for SprintTV, and you can watch whatever channel you want, or you can watch pre-recorded content.

The phone may have some limitations, but for other things it is pretty amazing, can't wait to see what the next gen smartphone does when Sprint gets around to getting a new one.

Other things I have gotten this phone to do are:
Have it read me audio books/language programs
Call up detailed maps
MSN messenger
Stream audio/mp3's
Browse most internet sites
Play Doom
Play Duke Nukem
Play Quake
etc etc.

That is subjective, for Sprint TV is just starting out it may get better when EV-DO is launched.

Yes it is subjective, but for me the frame rate, video, audio, and especially the content is way better BIG time. From what I understand with SprintTV if you want the really good channels you have to pay an additional fee per month per channel. I have access to every single cable channel I subscribe to at home on my phone now.

I cannot wait for EV-DO, then my streamed TV will really look perfect.

So any tips/details on how to go about it, or is that something that is too technical to get into here? I have my own site provided by my ISP (don't know if you need a static IP) and would love to do this when I get my next phone soon.

Please tell me how you got the feed from your Cable to your phone. Did you use the M2 software? Feel free to get as technical as you want with me. I have been wanting to stream my Satellite TV to my phone and I am sure there is a way to do it. I think I can do it with the M2 software but please let me know how you did yours so I can see if your method would be any better or easier.

You guys realize it can only be streamed to internet explorer, ie: smartphone or Pocket PC, not to regular phones. Unless the phone can connect to a mms address.

Hi chris, yes I am using beyond TV, but its a bit of a pain to get it to stream to the smartphone. You should check out engadget.com today, they are running a story about software to stream from PC to Sprint phones, I put in a comment for m2audio. Apparently you have to convert to QCP before you can stream, ack. You should submit your software for them to run a story on.

Spine, is that BeyondTV.com or .org? And could you post more details? One other question, with the i600, do you know, if one could purchase a bluetooth SD card, configure it with the i600 and then use a bluetooth PDA, to access the net, via Vision? TIA

It is .com. You cannot use a bluetooth card yet. The issue is that none of the hardware manufacturers have made drivers yet.
