Monitoring RF Power Levels
Can it be done on a Samsung VGA1000/A620? I hear people talking about seeing the db levels (numbers like -90db etc) but I don't know how its done. Is it somthing in the debug menu or test console?

Debug MenuIf you don't know what you're doing don't mess with anything. You can end up with an expensive paper weight. |

I used that for an hour before posting searching for what I was looking for but I couldn't find anything related to power levels.

Here's what you do: Type this: ##33284 (DEBUG) Enter this code when it asks: 040793 On there you will see a bunch of info. You should see something like Rx: with some numbers. That's your RF power reading. The lower the number, the stronger the signal. Hope this helps. Last edited by pmcafee2003; 09-27-2004 at 06:12 PM. |

T-63 D103-15 and changes depending where I move to in my metal frame apartment( where I am getting really poor signal). I am guessing the DXXX-XX is my power level. If im reading that right, im getting -103.15dbm which means that it's amazing that this think works at all. Now I need to find one of those repeaters and put it near my ceiling window where I get -95dbm. |

You're right, the D103-15 is your power level reading. The phone will stop working around -105 to -108dBm. |

No problem my friend. I get aggravated at the other users on here sometimes because they harp on using the search engine which sometimes doesn't help. I'm glad I could be of help. |

I have a samsung rant and used the code ##33284# and then use the master service code that i got from sprint. it brings you to a debug menu with lines of letters and numbers i just dont know what each line means. i do know that the closer the number is to 0 the more signal strength you have. hope this helps.
