AIM Texting

When will Sprint implement the feature where you can reply to messages from AIM via Text Message..instead of JUST receiving..all the other carriers have it right..what would make sprint add this?

What would be required by sprint to add in this feature? It can't be a lot..is there anyway to request it or something...

I mean look..it makes people text message more...making them use money...which equals Sprint making more money...and it also makes more people purchase the unlimited SMS upgrades...

COMMON SPRINT!

Ahh...you have a point. It's technically through vision, though U do receive a text message with an attached link that you access through vison. I'm not sure how the other carriers do it. Weird.

I agree. I was able to send/recieve messages until 3 weeks ago. I have a sanyo 8100. I called up Sprint and they told me that AIM made some updates(he didnt tell me what kind of updates to their server about 3 weeks ago(the time I started having troubles).

Sprint also said that AIM is not a supported application and that I was the first person to complain about it. He told me AIM is only compatible(the way we want it-2 way) on certain phones. I asked him what phones was it compatible on and he didnt know. It was my understanding that any phone that could utilize vision can use AIM.

The Sprint person told me I was the first person to call on this. I told him other people have been having troubles as well. He said if enough people call then they will probably do something about it.

I called AOL and they told me that the only way it would be fixed is for Sprint to fix it on their ends. They tell me Sprint can only do 1 way IM forwarding and will have to make changes to support 2 way. The AOL person did suggest to see if Sprint can put a NEWER version of AIM on the vision page. I know I dont see any version number on the version that is on my phone.

Maybe if we can get enough people to complain, they will fix it or update the version on the vision homepage. who would we need to contact for that?

the problem im having is that im NOT recieving the alert with the attached link. I called vision help desk and they told me to contact AOL. I did and both are blaming the other(AOL says its Sprints fault and vice versa).

Both Sprint and AOL have both said that AIM on the mobile phone is NOT a supported application and not many people have called about it. Im guessing if enough people start complain there might be a chance to fix it.

Sprint has to know that when sending the text it's going to AIM, not a phone. This is something that they are working on. They experimented with Bravo! on something kinda like AT&T did with American Idol. This is a step closer to having AIM on our phones. Be patient, but please do contact Sprint to let them know that you want it. The more people that let them know, the sooner we will see it!

I had Two way SMS AIM convo's on T-Mobile, I don't see why sprint couldn't have it if they wanted. Someone had a link to a site that allowed it for Sprint, some kinda program thingie.
