Yep, as 4n7 said PRL is only for which tower your phone looks for while roaming (which you can't use SMS anyway when your roaming). So it's not the PRL update that screwed up your phone.

I don't have SMS, but shortmail has been extra crummy lately...which means it's barely working at all.

Shortmail runs on a different server than SMS. So if its an issue, it would be more of a 2g problem on that aspect. As for PRL,it has no effect on SMS like everyone else mentioned. Have you loaded any apps lately?

not really, but you can download files which may corrupt themselves. I have seen Samsung phones which have downloaded screensavers and ringers which can not be deleted without reflashing the whole phone

What happens is not a virus issue in what Desi is referring to is that the way some programs or files are written, is that they get 'stuck' in the memory, kinda like a lost cluster on a HD or a TSR in PC memory that just won't go away. I have the app you mentioned you downloaded, and I don't seem to have problems, but then again, I have a different phone. It may be related, it may not be. It may just be network related to some of the folks have been having on and off this week.

well, first, i have been experiencing SMS issues for past nine days... those sent from SPCS.com and from a phone. There is another thread on this where others are reporting the same. Where are you located?
