Hey everyone,
I was wondering if any of you had success with using BCPE from your 8200? When I try and login to BCPE I get the page that you see from your desktop computer. Is there no WAP page for it anymore? If there is, can someone post the direct address they got from their phone's browser? Thank you! -M- |

The corporate edition doesn't work either. I notified our rep and he had the techs looking into the problem. The last thing I heard was it did look to be a problem on their end...but I haven't heard anything more. Not sure what the personal edition is doing but the corporate edition gives an error "too many redirection".

Bcpe
I spoke w tier 2 tech. today about this issue. It has many tickets and unfortunately NO fix in sight. It is a Sprint website issue with the 8200 browser. The BCPE website is not compatable with something in the 8200 browser and it is not a Sanyo issue since Sprint websites are considered 3rd party.
I was told that you cannot "update" the browser in the phone and the only thing to do is either change phones or wait for a fix that may never come along. It really sucks as you would think Sprint would have tested each phone browser for access to BCPE. I know that cannot randomly test pages but for a product they charge for?? Long story short there is nothing we 8200 users can do except wait and wait and wai............... According to tech no fix was in the "near" future, which, with Sprint means the next year or so. If anyone knows any diff. or knows of any other program that lets you do this help us users that need access out. JA |

This is ridiculous. It's been almost two months and I don't have access to my BCPE with my 8200!

It's been almost six months since I started this thread and I still can't access my BCPE with my Sanyo 8200. I find this quite annoying. Does any Sprint employee have any idea of a fix in the works, workaround, anything?
Thanks in advance. -M-

modma,
Still have same issue here. As I was told again after talking to tier 2 a few days ago. " We are aware of the 8200 issue and the fix will have to come from Sanyo as it is a browser issue with them we have requested their development team work on it but have not been given a time frame for completion" It turns out per tier 2 that the 8200 was not supposed to access BCPE. Sprint had decided to stop access after the 8100 and limit it only to the "smart phones" BUT the documentation for the 8200 said it would work and that is the only reason they have requested Sanyo to work on a patch for the phone. They have also stated that there is no "work around" for this. I even suggested loading the same browser used for the 8100 but was told the browser was part of the firmware and could not be changed. Long story short I doubt we will ever see a fix for this issue as the phone will prob. be discontinued long before Sanyo comes out with that patch and if I had to guess...Sprint already knows this |

Your are correct, support for WAP devices is a thing of the past. Smart phones are only supported now. Any new WAP handset will not be able to access.

BCPE fix for 8200!
For all the 8200 fans that want BCPE. I decided to check it again today just for the heck of it and....would you believe it...It works! I had to download an updated edition for the laptop but after doing that it signs on and pulls emails, contacts and schedules just fine (from Outlook) When you first sign on it says that this phone is not "offically" supported but you can use it.
It took a while but Sprint came through on this one. Just an FYI |
