Sanyo SCP-5500

Just exchanged my SCP-5400 for a 5500. I found a store in Manalapan NJ that had them in stock.

It's REALLY a nice phone! Not as light as the 5400, but understandably so, there's a LOT of electronics packed into the exact same form factor. It takes decent video, but so far I haven't had success sending the video non VideoMail phones (I guess they're not capable of it). Sending to e-mail works just fine as long as you have a quicktime plug-in.

Other than the camera (which takes photos about on par with the 8100, only it's 480 x 640 resolution) and of course the dark navy blue/almost black color, the phone pretty much works exactly the same as the 5400.

There are SOME differences though. One I've noticed: you can now disable the "You will not receive ReadyLink calls" message when you launch the web browser or run Java Apps. A big plus IMO, as I found that message on the 5400 a little annoying after the first few times I saw it.

One thing I DON'T like about the 5400/5500: Sanyo screwed around with the font on the mini LCD that's used to display the caller ID info on incoming calls. It's now too large for a full phone number to fit on that screen, and it must scroll. So if you don't recognize a phone number right away, you have to wait a ring or two for the number to fully scroll. I think the font they used on the 8100 was just fine: bold, yet small enough to all fit without scrolling. Why screw with a good thing?

EDIT-- I know some people on here are probably going to be skeptical, and I understand that with a lot of the junk some people have posted on here claiming it to be true. To prove I have this phone:
