SERO upgrade

Learned there are targeted users offered 24 months contract with subsidized phones. I was told I was not a targeted user and will have to give up SERO plan to go with their current 18 month leases phone plan or whatever they have.
Have had SERO plan for over 10 years. Anyway to keep my current plan? Or I should just switch carriers. The only reason I still use Sprint is SERO plan.

Any suggestions? Many thanks.

Where did you hear about the targeted users.

My wife wants the iPhone 8 and I either want 8 or X and was just investigating our options. I've been SERO for a decade as well and would love a subsidized phone. The lease option just doesn't seem Ike a good deal at all.

Targeted offers to enter a 2-year agreement have been given to subscribers who are still on legacy Everything plans (e.g., Everything Data 450, Everything Data Family etc). Unfortunately, these offers haven't been made available to SERO account holders.

To OP, you were given incorrect info. You can enter into a lease without changing your SERO plan. For a while, they were offering a $15/mo. "loyalty credit" to SERO holders who entered into a lease or installment payments. In order to get that credit, they were insisting SERO Premium ($50) plans had to switch to SERO Unlimited ($60). It was a sneaky little trick because in the end, your $50 SERO plan would be gone forever and once you completed the lease term, the $15 credit would be removed. Result = You'd be left holding a $60 plan and couldn't return to the subsidy type upgrades.

So what's the scoop? Will I be able to get a subsidized iPhone X when my SERO Premium contract expires on January 2018?

Unless something changes between now and then, no.

This looks to be great news. Has anyone upgraded a SERO 500 Premium account on Apple.com for the iphone 8?

Lg v30

I am on sero 500, and i am seeing 2 year upgrade pricing for the lg v30 for 450 on sprint.com, for the line that has fulfilled its agreement. It is telling me that my plan cost will go up 25$ though. Anyknow know if sero plans will have the surcharge added?

Btw, i was unable to upgrade sero via apple.com. it usjally errored out.

The last time i upgraded, it was at target for the galaxy s7 launch. The store manager said that sprint closed that workaround shortly after.

I have SERO Unlimited and was just talking to customer support. They said you will not get the $15 per month customer loyalty credit anymore, even if you are on Flex Pay. The lady kept trying to get me to change to Unlimited Freedom.

It is still being applied to my current bill though ... does anyone know if this is true? Getting accurate information is challenging when calling Sprint.

I confirmed the $15 credit is gone as of May 2017 once you change your phone.
