From Sprint to Tmobile to AT&T

Ok... this may seem crazy but I've been thinking about this all morning.
I've been with Sprint for 17 years. I have 5 lines of service and paying about $235 per month and currently out of contract.

I ultimately want to go with AT&T mainly due to coverage area.

I currently have 4 iphones 4s and 1 S3.
Step 1
Renew with Sprint 2 year contract. 5 new iPhone 6 for ~$1k
Step 2
Change service back to old phones
Step 3
Sign up with Tmobile and have them pay early term while at the same time trading in my old iPhone 4s and S3 to qualify for their switch plan.

I would have to buy iPhone 6 phones through Tmobile but I would have the Sprint iPhone 6 I could sell to make up the difference.
Step 4
Switch to AT&T

Did I stay up too late and not get enough sleep or does this sound like a good plan?

Umm. I would say this is your answer to your own question.

My question is why in the world would you put yourself through so much drama just to switch to AT&T??

Just switch to AT&T and be happy minus the drama is my opinion.

It will probably work, but it's a lot of effort, and it's totally unethical. Just switch to AT&T straight up.

To prevent this kind of ETF deception in the future, these carriers need to require people to stick around for 90 or so days before paying any money. Otherwise, they've just lost money and a customer, just for them paying an ETF.

just switch to AT&T and buy your iphones thru them.

Apparently you don't realize that you're better off trading in your 4 Iphone 4s's at $200 each to AT&T, sell the S3 for $150, and buying your five Iphone 6's from them directly for the same $1k. No risk of selling the iphone 6's and not getting a high enough price, and you're on AT&T like you want. Why make it complicated?
