Backlit Buttons on Ativ S Neo Not Staying Lit

Hi! I've noticed that the BACK and SEARCH buttons don't stay lit for very long on my Ativ S Neo. The buttons also don't light back up when I interact with the screen making it hard to find the back button in menus and whatnot. The buttons will light up when I press them, but that sort of defeats the purpose (am I just supposed to guess where the buttons are to press them?).

Is there a way to change this? Is my phone defective? Or is this just really bad usability? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've also posted at the Sprint Community site.

Thanks!

From what i can tell, there is no way to change it's settings. Just have to know they are there.

Maybe an app on market, but you might need root for it to work.

Also, don't they light up when you touch screen?

They only light up when you turn it on, or when you touch the area where they are located.

Its all part of the power saving scheme mandated by the operating system. At this time it is not user-controllable.

There's no "rooting" a WP device. The OS operates completely different than Android, which is a Linux derivative.

To my knowledge there is no built-in control or app in the Store that allows you to have custom control over the capacitive buttons.
