Samsung Galaxy tops IPhone at Christmas 2012

Samsung's Galaxy smartphones beat Apple's iPhone to become the big winners in the Christmas sales market, a new report has said.

The top three most popular Christmas handsets for 2012 were all Samsung Galaxy models, including the flagship Galaxy S3 at the number one spot.

Apple's iPhone range only managed to rank at number five, with 2011's iPhone 4S. Despite selling millions after its launch last September, the iPhone 5 failed to make the top five at Christmas, according to the latest uSwitch.com Mobile Tracker.

Lol @ Baztids
Apple did Samsung a favor with all the law suits.

Samsung saw a 20% sales increase since the law suits.

http://mobithinking.com/blog/apple-s...-samsung-sales

Along with Samsung charging Apple 20% MORE for the screens and processors that Samsung does make for them.

http://apple.slashdot.org/story/12/1...price-increase

Samsung has made more than the 1.4 billion back and then some !

Phones are a personal choice.

I work with many business clients advising on smartphones and computers. After using an Android phone for past two years I switched to an iPhone 5.

Thie iPhone 5 along with an IPad is the only recommendation I can make to businesses. These two devices with superior software and hardware, along with business apps and iCloud , there is no comparison to quality and ease of use. Android was filled with so many issues I was spending too much extra time fixing these software issues.

The best in end user experience is the iOS devices. Period.

Well there you have, "thie" crowd / expert has spoken!

By the way, how's that Apple maps, and iTunes working for you?

Slickdeals.net was blown on ecstasy that they could get gmaps on iPhones.

Local radio station stated an article came out saying Apple maps was 300% better at getting you lost.

Best phone OS / phone out there is what works for the end user.

.

P.s. / edit: radio station was Alice 97.3fm for the curious ones .

That's funny. I probably use Apple Maps more than a vast majority of users, and it has so far only put me off track one time. I challenge the integrity of 90% of those complaining, most are making up stories to get attention. But I remember a day when Google Maps wasn't nearly as good as it is today. For a first release, Maps is pretty darn good.

If you want to question my usage? I am a tow/recovery truck operator. Drive 200-250 miles a day and only use Apple Maps on my iPhone to find addresses I need to locate, both in my local city and up to 300 miles out. I have quite a bit of mileage under my belt with Maps and I just found the first real problem on Wednesday.
