Phone numbers added to Call Reject are being allowed to leave voicemail

I added a few phone numbers to the call reject list/app that came with the phone and for some reason the calls are not making the phone ring but they are able to leave a voicemail.

My understanding was that if the number was added to call reject list the next time the phone call comes in it would not ring on my end and on their end it would ommit tones as if my cell number doesnt exist and therefore wouldnt allow them to leave a voicemail either.

Am I missing something?

Is this a provider(Sprint) provided app? If it was, they might think to integrate it to their voice mail system.

If not, the app is just intercepting the incoming call and keeping your phone from ringing, but voice mail is handled by the provider and the app has no control over them.

Add them to your block list on the Sprint site.

Actually I believe it might be a app provided by the phone not sure but it was pre-installed. I had another app that did an awesome job at call blocking but thought I would give the internal one a try.

I had what was called call blocker and it was awesome so if this version that came on phone continues to fail then I guess I'll have to reinstall it.

The Call Reject feature is built into TouchWiz, not a 3rd party app. Open the dialer, go to Call Settings > Call rejection > Auto rejection mode (on/off) , Auto reject list (manage list with exact numbers or partials e.g. "Starts with 1-800"

I believe this feature just sends calls on your reject list straight to v-mail and doesn't ring your phone. If you're on Sprint and have Sprint visual voice mail (maybe other carriers have?) you can delete the v-mail messages w/o listing.

Thanks for your input but I was hoping that it would not allow them to leave a voicemail either. Im on sprint. I had got this impression from watching a youtube video on the feature.

I just reinstalled my 3rd party app "call blocker" and it doesnt allow block numbers to leave voicemails it just hangs up on them and doesnt ring the phone either.

If you are on Sprint, you can manage those numbers to be blocked by accessing your account online.
