Where do I return my Airave to?

Ported out of sprint on Feb 17th and got my final bill with ETF on March 18th.

However, there was no mention on where to send my Airave or what to do with it. It also shows up online by itself.

When should I expect to receive the return information from them?

I contacted Sprint on twitter and they said I should send it back (but didn't say where) or bring it to a corp store to avoid being charged.

Any luck with bringing it to the corp store? I've had bad luck with AT&T in the past in similar situations.

If you bring it to the store just get some kind of paperwork showing you returned it. I'm not sure where you "send it" to. I believe its one specific location. And I'm not sure if Sprint makes you pay postage or if they send you a prepaid label at their convience. I never had an airwave with Sprint. Kind of no point unless Sprint was going to provide me with the internet also.

Call sprint and tell them you need a return kit. They won't go out of their way to do it on their own. I sent mine back a month ago (after asking for a return kit). I got a prepaid UPS label via email, sent it back in the same box I got it in. A few days later, got another label via USPS with a bubble mailer and another UPS label (this time a 2nd day air one, previous one was ground).

A few weeks ago got a postcard telling me they (sprint) were going to charge me 140.00 for a non-returned Airave. Called exec services (whom I'd been dealing with anyhow) and they had to end up calling the warehouse to verify that they had it, even though it was delivered close to a month ago.

Return it to a Sprint Corp. store and get a receipt. If its the old one they may not even want it back.

Give me a break. Do you expect netflix to provide you internet because they stream over your connection? Vonage to provide internet because they are a VOIP provider?

I think the point some make about an airave is that Sprint offers them to people their signal doesn't cover well, and therefore the customer is paying for internet to get service Sprint should provide.

While perhaps not as used, Verizon has a similar "network extended" device. Unlike Sprint, they don't give em away like candy on Halloween though.

They sell you the device, or you can get them on amazon, etc. No contract for it and no monthly service fee. $250 from Verizon, $200 or less on Amazon.

I don't get the point of Airave. If I have home Internet service, I'll just use wifi.

How is WiFi going to improve your signal strength for voice calls? That is the point of Airave after all, voice not data.

I didn't know that. A CS rep offered me a free Airave for my slow data. I guess some Sprint employees don't even really know what it is. lol

It will fix slow data as well. But if you have WiFi you would naturally use that instead. It is primarily for bad voice connections unless you have a dumb phone without WiFi and in that case the data speed bump would be useful.

I have wifi but still keep it off in favor of the airave handling everything. I guess just a habit from when I had dumb phoneswith no wifi on the phone. The airave gives me about 2 mbits through evdo so fast enough really.

wow they are not so supposed to offer it for slow data speeds, only for voice issues. We have certain tools to determine if a person is even eligible for it, they were really trying to get a sales credit from you.

Do not take it to the store, it will be a headache and most will not take it anyway. Just call care and get a return kit, make sure you keep the tracking number also.
