2011 NFL Season Open Thread

I figure we should have a thread dedicated to the 2011 NFL season.

No. ^ I think if that was the case the 6 docs would've said that but I guess who knows for sure.

Why do teams always always run right up the middle on important downs? Saints should have just did a quick pitch to Darren Sproles.

I had the same neck surgery done almost 3 years ago. My surgery was a little more than he had. I had the discs removed from c4-c7, bone implants put it in place, and then a titanium plate and 8 screws to hold it together.

His career might might not be over but to think he was going to start the season after such a short time was just crazy. It takes time for the bone grafts to grow and fuse together. He is also one hit away from being paralyzed. I think he is crazy to come back this year, and would not be surprised if he sat out the whole year. I was told my recovery time was 4-6 months, and I am not a pro quarterback,

Oh I wasn't saying he's going to play anytime soon. I'm pretty sure no one is saying that now after his second neck surgery. However pro athletes get top notch care and usually recover a lot quicker then us. If the Colts fall apart without him then there's no reason to take a chance this season.

I know you weren't saying that, but there were people that actually expected him to start this season. That is just crazy. Hopefully the bones fuse quickly, mine took about 8 months before they were completely fused. Now I have a nightmare at airports, trying to get through the metal detectors, lol

(I dont mean to go off topic but...)

How much metal does it take for the airport metal
detectors to go off ?

I broke my wrist last year in 3 places.
They put a rod, a plate and 9 screws in it
Hurt like hell !

I am not sure but my neck plates sets it off all the time. I have the plate and 8 screws so I am sure you will set it off too.

I believe it is. The wrong type of hit would have him in a wheelchair. If he returns, it will be very short-lived.

He might be done, very sad.

It is not advisable him to return. I wish him the best, I always liked him.
