How to build an HTC EVO 2 (Just in case Sprint needs some help!)

A true EVO 2 should have a 4.3" qHD screen, 1.2+ gHz dual-core processor, 8 MP shooter, Sense 3.0+, thin, light, fast, quality build materials, and a distinguishing hardware feature (Preferrably not gimmick related.) Like maybe an edge-to edge screen....?

IMO, it was the EVO's huge screen that made a splash in market for Sprint. Why not capitalize on that for the next version? Its more synonymous with the EVO line.

What do you all want to see in a proper EVO successor?

Here is a link to the blog of lead EVO 4G designer Donn Koh. He talks about the EVO from conception to production. Very inspiring and a great read!

Oh, and I forgot to mention an EVO 2 should have a LTE radio and NFC. That is all...

Are you joking? What you're asking for was literally released in June, it's called the evo 3d...

Because a few of these guys think that because the phone has the 3D in the name that the phone is no good. They don't understand it's just a feature like a camera or 4G and you don't have to use it. The phone is awesome and I dont even use the 3D feature.

Of course there are others who like to pay for things they won't use or can't use.
Must be the 4G Detroit effect that abuses the thought process.

How do you manufacture a case for an edge to edge screen? There can be literally no protection for the front of the phone.

I very well understand 3D is just a feature. Turn it off if you don't want to use it, turn it on if you do. I suppose my beef is the EVO line shouldn't have to resort to current marketing fads/gimmicks to sell a device. The EVO 4G innovated with 4G, large screen, built-in connectivity features and aesthetic design all in a pleasing package. NOT images that pop out before your eyes being marketed as it's main desirable feature.

LOL. Good point! Remember you said this when Apple introduces the next iPhone's "Infinity" display! A case can be engineered, trust me.

And it's being ignored or returned for more "solid" devices. Search the threads right here on SU to find support of that claim.

I can agree with most of this except give me a Super Amoled+ screen and make sense uninstallable.

Yeah because Detroit is the only area without 4G.

I'm thankful for all the wonderful phones sprint has brought to us!! People are always gonna want more and more and more!! The first EVO 4G took the market by storm with not only one of the first 4.3 inch screens but 4G coverage . Although its not everywhere and i hardly use 4G the phone was fantastic. Now with the evo 3d out and being one of the first phones to capture 3d images and video, and play back videos ,and have a dual core 1.2 processor, I'm very thankful!! With other phones such as the epic, now photon and ,Samsung epic touch or whatever its called coming out, I feel sprint is doing a great job providing top of the line hand sets!! making kickstands a definite part of all EVO line phones would be great though ;-)

Next Gen EVO features I'd like to see...

up the RAM substantially, native app2sd support for everything, including the bloatware, get the sd card accessible from the outside of the phone and make it hot-swappable. Then we can have an sd card loaded with apps we use at work.. one with movies or music we want to veg to whenever and one loaded with games and such... for the price of one 32gb sd card to hold everything you can buy 10 8's to swap more stuff out....

Just a thought... lol...

You might as well start calling it the EVO III, the EVO 2 has already been out for over a month. But sticking to the topic, I like the LTE chip, but we need a LTE network first. The sdcard idea is great and who doesn't want more ram. I would add more internal storage, and the screen would be a combination of the qhd and super amoled plus. I guess like a super amoled HD screen. Faster processor would also be on my list.
