How to delete Trash in Gmail?

How the heck do you delete your trash in your Gmail? I couldn't find a way with my Hero, and I can't find a way with my Optimus S. It can be done on our PC, which of course then does it automatically on your phone, but its been down for sometime now.

I'm just wondering why you can't just check all the boxes that you want deleted in trash like you can can with inbox, spam, and everything else in batches. So much faster that way. And for me its the trash that builds up the fastest

You could also log into your gmail account online and delete them there. For the EVO it creates an IMAP trash delete folder..just empty that.
