EVO Visual Voicemail to SMS

Beginning today, 10/31, HTC Evo customers will see a Trial button in their Visual Voicemail to try the new voicemail-to-text service. This will convert voicemail to text messages and then send them to your SMS or email. Free for the first 30 days then $1.99.

Just a heads up for those interested. Same service is free from Google Voice, BTW.

I tried a new rom CM6 and got voice mails as texts. I got rid of that rom since that annoyed the crap out of me. lol

free trial? Do they really plan on charging for this in the future? NO THANKS.

EDIT: Just did the update and yup, they're charging for this as a addon. Sprint can choke on it, this should be a included feature.

I agree. These nickle-and-dime charges irritate customers.

$1.99 per converted voicemail to text or a MRC?

especially when it flies directly in the face of the reputation Sprint is trying to hang on to. Ah well. I have done without it thus far, no reason to get up in arms because I'm not getting it for free now I guess. Still, not a great move by Sprint imo.

What should you do when it's telling you that you have a "mandatory update" and despite you get out of the v/m it still showing the message on your notification bar? No option to clear?

My voicemail is messed up now. It wont download the messages and I cant get rid of the voicemail icon on my home screen. I updated a week ago and havent had any issues with it. Reboot didn't fix it either.

You can safely say ''yes'', and try the service. You will not automatically be enrolled at the end of the service. I suggest trying it, you may find it useful. No harm, no foul
ps: you got the purdiest legs. I believe I mentioned them before, and can't promise that I won't at a later date

My Evo was having the same trouble with the Visual Voicemail, as well as inconsistent access to the 3G network. It started last night. After restarting my phone and updating my profile (both of which did not resolve my problem), I called Level-2 Tech Support tonight, and apparently the 3G network is in the process of being repaired. According to tech support, other Evo users are having the same problem nationwide. So, hopefully, Sprint will fix it tomorrow.
