Cheapest prepaid for light users

My elderly parents are currently on my legacy plan . One uses 10 minutes per month, the other approximately 125.

I am looking for cheapest alternative prepaid plan that would fit their needs as I am considering new data plan (no other option for decent phones).

thanks for the help

Service runs on the Verizon network, cards are good for 120 days, as low as $10 every 4 months to keep service and all minutes roll over with the new card. So, $30 a year for the line that uses 10 minutes or so a month, and probably a $50 once with a low dollar card to keep the minutes for the rest of the year on the heavier usage line.

Why not just give them your old legacy plan and get a new plan?

That would cost me the base price of the legacy plan ($89.99/month) when I think I can get prepaid for a fraction of the monthly price.

Like most CDMA carriers, if you get a Sprint device flashed to their network, pageplus will activate it. I asked a while back and they quoted me a price for the flash.

Also like most CDMA carriers, Sprint devices will typically work for voice and text, but not for data / MMS, etc.

Like most prepaid carriers, their network is limited. Page Plus is good in the fact that it is the Verizon network, so the native coverage after the alltel transaction is pretty good.

I just asked activations@pageplusceller.com whether they could activate a wireless terminal that I currently have on a line of service on a Sprint plan and here's the response I got.

Unfortunately at this time Page Plus Cellular cannot activate this type of equipment. We cannot activate equipment built for the Sprint network nor are we aligned to activate and properly maintain wireless terminals. If you have further questions regarding this issue, please contact our customer care department at 1-800-550-2436.

Thank You,

Dan did you have to talk to anyone in particular at Page Plus Cellular about flashing Sprint equipment for usage on their network?

I think the issue is that it is a "wireless terminal" as opposed to a standard cell phone. Typically, a flashed phone can use voice and SMS messaging after the flash, and data typically will not work.

If it was just a standard flash, most any 3rd party "page plus" retailer can do it for you.

So PagePlus uses the Verizon network? So it's as good as going with Verizon for coverage?

Also, can one port an existing phone number to them?

I am currently out of contract on 3 of my 4 lines and this seems pretty good since 2 of my lines don't get much usage.
