HTC Evo Seidio Holster and Case review (1 of 5)

One of our winners from the latest Seidio case giveaway has submitted this review of the HTC Evo holster. Enjoy!

Ever since I received my Evo, it's become my baby....

I'm rarely, if ever, without it & I wanted a case that would not only protect it from accidental drops, being tossed into my purse, and flying off the front seat of my car when I hit the brakes too hard, but I also wanted it to look really really good too. I'm not a fan of shell cases, because I've found that most of them look bulky and cheap. I've always preferred just a simple leather pouch with a snap, so I entered the Seidio contest, figuring that if I was lucky enough to win, it would be a great way to try out a different type of case.

Well....I was one of the lucky winners and I received the package from Seidio yesterday afternoon. It was nicely packed in a plastic case, similar in size to the Evo box, with instructions. The packaging was very easy to open, which is a big plus for girls like me, who have longer fingernails, and are paranoid of breaking one. So, kudos to Seidio for being thoughtful of our manicures!

I chose the Amethyst for two reasons:

1. I'm a girl

2. I wanted a color that would be fairly easy to find in my purse.

The color is very vibrant and looks gorgeous with both the HTC Sense live wallpaper and the Galaxy live wallpaper. While I haven't loaded them, I can imagine it will also look great with the Polar Clock & Anipet Aquarium live wallpapers as well. I was a bit worried about how the amethyst would look with the red on the Evo camera lens and around the kickstand, but I can honestly say that I like it!

When I went to install the case, I was thrilled to see that the inside is lined in places with a low-plush velvety fabric. That is a fantastic feature because it won't scratch the Evo itself, when removing the case and putting it back on.

The case fits like a glove and has a very nice soft suede feeling to it, so it's feels wonderful to hold. I intentionally handled the case after moisturizing my hands, and the excess lotion wiped right off the case with no problem and no staining. The case adds some thickness to the body, so I feel like the camera lens is a bit more protected. All of the controls are very easy to access, including the kickstand.

I wanted to try my hand at removing the case, because it would be really bad if I couldn't get the little bugger off. I'm one of those people who has issues with child-proof aspirin bottles, so I had an instant fear of having to pry it off with a screwdriver. I followed the removal directions, and with a little wiggle and a little pull, the case slid right off.

Because they're just a little on the masculine side, I've never really used holsters, so this is my first experience actually trying one out. The holster itself isn't nearly as pretty as the case, but it is very functional. It easily snaps on to the front of the phone, so the touchscreen is covered. The part of the holster that comes in contact with the touch screen is also covered with the same velvety fabric that is on the inside of the case.

At the top of the holster is a spring loaded clip that covers the power button and does a great job of holding the top in place, while the bottom is form fitted to the bottom of the phone. It's a nice snug fit.....

The holster clip is also spring loaded, but the cool feature here, is that it rotates, so you can clip your phone on either vertically or horizontally! I've actually found that the holster is great because not only does it protect the face of the phone, but I can now clip the phone to one of the pockets inside my handbags, and never shall I dig for my phone again! (Any girl who has regular manicures should REALLY appreciate this)

Overall, I'm incredibly impressed with the Seidio Innocase™ II & Holster! Whether they realize it or not, Seidio has provided quite a few thoughtful features that most girls (ok... and guys too) will absolutely appreciate. Their colors are fantastic and I'll definately be ordering more colors to match with outfits and handbags. The quality is outstanding and I can easily say that they've converted me from a leather pouch girl, to a Seidio Girl!
