Sprint network down? (EVO activations)

Quick question. Is anyone else being told that their EVO can't be activated because the Sprint activation systems are down? My brother is standing in BB for his 2 pm appointment, and he just called and said they told him they don't know when he will get his phone since the activation system is down.

Is BB maybe having issues and pawning them off on Sprint? Is Sprint actually having issues? (My bro lives in Louisville, KY as well).

Whoops....posted this one one page too soon. Could a mod move this thread to the EVO specific page?

I read a website that reported overloaded Sprint systems due to all the people wanting an EVO

BB So Cal was barely working today. The computer system was not working to sprint so they were calling in on the phone and doing activations that way. It took 2 hours for them to sell and activate 3 phones (no kidding!), they had appointments stacked up from pre-orders and most people were leaving the store pissed without a phone.

Picked mine up at 9:00 AM EDT today. 12 hours 15 minutes later it is still not provisioned. Voice works. Data doesn't. Sprint can't predict when their system will catch up.

same thing happened when AT&T first had the iphone come to public. there was so much demand for the device that systems just got overloaded.

I got my evo at the 9 a.m. appointment at the John Han**** Center BB. The systems were starting to lag up and throw erros then. She just barely got me through the computer. The phone is definitely worth the wait. It really does everything, and does it all well.

6:26 AM EDT -- just did a profile update and it provisioned immediately -- so looks like system cleared out overnight. See my earlier post that i got phone at 9:00 AM yesterday. Data provisioning failed all day yesterday and as late as 11:30 PM EDT last night.

5 bells and all is well.
