Esrp does it cover physical damage anymore?

I have the $7 TEP on my blackberry line.

My screen broke the other day (not the outside screen, but the internal one had black spots).

I took it in and expected it to be free, ESRP would cover them switching out the damaged part.

Low and behold they say ESRP does NOT cover physical damage and that it's $119.

I have them charge my account and get out of there.

I did an Echat with Sprint the following day and asked the rep. if ESRP covers phyiscal damage for screens. He said YES it's free to repair a broken screen.

He then applied a $119 credit to my account.

Questions:
1) does it cover physical damage
2) why the hell are these morons so inconsistant with their message/policy/procedure that I've got to go through hoops to get things fixed?

A cracked screen is considered to be a sign of abuse, unless it is a "known issue" for the device. The eChat rep was wrong. Its been this way for about a year, maybe more.

ESRP hasn't covered cracked screens in almost two years.
