Is there a just plain Phone / Phone anymore?

Wife doesn't text, email or go online but she talks a lot, and I mean a lot ! So is there a old fashioned good phone with great reception and battery life available from Sprint like the ones Sanyo used to make ? Now using the Sanyo Katina LX model SCP 3800 and its disappointing to say the least.

You must have been one of the few lucky ones with a properly made Katana II. Most of this model were poorly made and fell apart very quickly. Ours lasted less than a week when it first came on the market. Too bad because Sanyo made the best quality phones before that.
I have been with Sprint since they started and now will have to begin to look at other carriers to see if they have a Good old fashioned cell Phone in place of the many faceted phones Sprint now supplies. Yes we are in the minority. We prefer to speak with people not text them and the web functions look so much better on a laptop than a tiny screen phone. Progress is not all good !
Thanks for the reply.

How about the Sanyo Mirro (aka SCP-3810)? Basic phone right there, free with a new contract.

Wirelessly posted (some touch: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.11) Sprint PPC6850SP)

Don"t forget Boost Mobile, $50 unlimited calling and all taxes and fees included. Depending on how you look at it, you have to pay upfront for the phone, and thats a drawback to some. They have a new Sanyo as well, so give them a look, Boostmobile.com.
Depending on the phone you choose you'll either use the Nextel or Sprint Network.

That seems to be my only choice. I'm hesitant getting the 3810. Having had the 3800 for a while it not a good phone at all. Getting a 3810 would be a waste of time if its the same quality.

Thanks, I forgot about Boost being on Sprints network. The best thing about Sprint is their network. Every Nextell user I know has found Nextell to be severely lacking.
