Sprint Signs with GetJar to Offer Free Apps

Today Sprint and GetJar announced a new partnership whereby Sprint will use GetJar's mobile apps store to allow its customers to access over 60,000 mobile applications. Sprint customers should notice the addition of a link in the Sprint portal. All 60,000 apps from GetJar will be available for free to most handsets on the Sprint network, including those that run Windows Mobile and BlackBerry OS.

@Truckguy, If you don't have a data plan you will be charged for the data to download the app's. Plus some app's need to access the internet to run.
@hoo.haaa, The pre is excluded from using it. It is not compatable.

this link says that a link will start showing up on your phones homepage by 2/10/10 but it is not there.but they do point out that it is just a link.you can accomplish the same thing in the meantime by going to m.getjar.com on your phone.

a tip.the samsung intrepid does not appear as a listed phone but you can either select windows mobile or java(j2me).java apps work fine but i recommend using jbed instead of sprint titan app.works better and loads faster.

Went to the getjar site, registered. Didn't see any applications. Not even sure it was the correct site. Can someone give a link to the area to go to see applications.

there was no registration,just pick your type of mobile and it shows the apps.

Could be I'll try again later. This site will help me enjoy my remaining time with my HTC Diamond because I've decided to wait as long as it takes for Sprint to get an Android phone with V2.

Any chance this site has an Android side to it?

They have over 800 apps for the Android, i have download about six and loving them

I was surprised because it seemed to me that pocketpc has a higher quality of games. Maybe if I spend more time on the site it will grow on me, but my first reaction was that of disappointment.

GetJar has been around for years. It was one of the original free app sites. The site looks a lot better now a days. Seems like a ton of apps and games. PROPS!
