Hero Firmware Update

This is a message I received in an email from HTC just moments ago. They are apparently issuing a firmware update today to resolve the 100% Awake time issue.

Quote:
Jason,

Thank you for contacting HTC regarding an issue with system standby on your Hero for Sprint.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your device does not function properly. HTC has heard of this issue before and has promptly created an update. As of 11/18/09 HTC released an over the air update for your device, this update will be taking place over the next few days for all owner’s of the Hero for Sprint. This update should require no action on your part and will correct the issue you’re inquiring about. If you experience any issues after this update please let us know.

If you have any future questions feel free to reply. You may also enjoy www.htcwiki.com, our customer-based forum, which has a plethora of information on HTC devices. You may be able to find feedback here from other users in your area who have purchased from any of HTC’s 3rd party retailers I would also like to invite you to participate in a customer satisfaction survey located at http://survey.htc.com/worldwide/. I hope you have a great day!

Just checked and mine says there is one available. I'm not plugged in nor am I on wi-fi.

It's downloading as we speak. Crossing my fingers.

Edit:
The download is pretty small. About 3mb. So I'm not holding out much hope that it fixes a lot of bugs.

It takes a long time for the phone to reboot after installing, so don't get nervous and try to reset it or anything.

Wow, it looks like the app corruption bug is fixed. All of my apps have the right icons and names now, and Flixster opens without crashing. Awesome!!!

after update my weather isnt working it doesnt show up, and the phone seems to be laggy. Also now my awake time says 100%. Going to turn off the phone and see if that makes a difference.

Never had the awake time show 100% it was always around 16-20%

Message after downloading:

The firmware update for your HERO200 is now ready to be installed. Your device will be updated to version 1.56.651.2. You cannot make or receive calls during the installation, even for emergencies. Do you want to install?
