[Tour] Official Discussion Thread

Well yesterday I got to play with the Sprint 9630 in the flesh...Now I could'nt get pics, believe me I tried.

Confirmed -

No Wifi - Sorry

Red Number Keys

True Bold/8900 love child.

Much more memory, moving thru the screens is so fluid and seemless

In 1/2hr worth of playing with the phone, not one time did I get hit with an Hr Glass.

Pretty much same feature set as the 8330, with Rev A instead of 0. and more memory.

Will release with OS 4.7 and upgradeable to 5.0 when Sprint/RIM releases it.

Again, it pretty much just a new form factor (and that's enough for me), not really bringing anything new to the table as far as features.

Mid-July release date, @199$ with new 2yr is what I'm told. And from my friend anaylsis, phone looks like it will meet the target release....

Still Rev.A is quite a good improvement seeing as only 4-5 phones in the past 2 years have had it.

i may be in the mood for more of a change then this phone provides.... i long for a large screen phone (ie Iphone, storm) and may be willing to give up a physical keyboard for it. just not enough real estate on my screen for the amount of web pages i view

So, basically you're saying that once I get the Tour, it will have 4.7 as the OS, and I can immediately upgrade to 5.0? (Or will there be a little time between the Tour release, and the 5.0 upgrade?)

He actually got to physically play with the Sprint version of the phone.

And from what I was told by MsRandall over at CrackBerry, Lenny is a reliable source for Sprint information.

So, this is some great news for us Sprint folk

Lenny,
Was there any mention of the BlackBerry Atlas (Tour with WiFi)? The Atlas was rumored to drop at close to the same time as the Tour. I am sure hoping that we'll see a Sprint Atlas soon.
