Pandora is available

Digital Lounge now has Pandora available. Just log in to your Digital Lounge and search for Pandora. You will be shocked: it costs $2.99/month! Why is it free for the iPhone/iPod Touch???

You can also access Pandora on your phone via Shopping. They list a free trial offer.

I guess it paid off -- somewhat -- writing Pandora and asking for an app for the Instinct.

When first registering, you have to press on the screen about 30 times to get it to recognize your selection. It took me 10 minutes just to get past the registration screen. Once through that, I selected an artist to start my first station. From there, it's fairly easy to navigate from there. It's just a matter of learning the buttons. You press the up arrow to create a new station.

I can't seem to get the pandora blog faq to load. Can you summarize why they charge $3/month for Instinct while it's free for iPhone?

To dts:
It's easier to create your stations on the web than on the phone. On the phone you can easily choose your stations after you log in. You are right about the buttons. They are a little odd. I kept pressing the "Yes" word when I should have pressed the "..." button. The same goes for the thumbs up and down for any song: you press the "..." button, not the thumb up/down.

Well, I have an iPod Touch with Pandora. Yesterday I logged on to it to see the differences. Besides the design, there is a quick small ad from Best Buy that appears at the bottom of the Pandora screen. However, I could easily click on the close button to get rid of the ad. It never appeared again.

About the Instinct charges, here is the complete FAQ from the Pandora site (the one you couldn't open).

Q: How do I get Pandora on my Sprint mobile phone?

You can download Pandora for your Sprint Power Vision handset a number of ways.

A. Using your Sprint Power Vision handset, please follow these instructions:

1. From the handsets main menu, select MY CONTENT
2. Select APPLICATIONS
3. Select GET NEW CONTENT
4. Select MUSIC, TV and MOVIES
5. Select MUSIC & RADIO
6. Select PANDORA FREE TRIAL
7. From the mobile landing page, select DOWNLOAD FREE TRIAL

B. Search for "Pandora" on your Sprint Power Vision handset:

1. From the handsets main menu, select WEB
2. Search for "Pandora"
3. Follow the link to the "Pandora Free Trial"

C. Point your mobile phone web browser to "Pandora.com"

1. From the handset main menu, select WEB
2. From the MENU, select "Go to URL"
3. Type in "pandora.com"
4. Follow the instructions on the mobile browser screen

How much does Pandora for a Sprint mobile phone cost?

Pandora on the Go is available for an initial free trial - with no obligation to continue - and then costs $2.99 per month in addition to your Sprint Power Vision data plan. Please note that a subscription to Pandora on Sprint includes a full subscription to Pandora on the Web, which permits advertising-free listening at Pandora.com.

What is required to listen to Pandora on my mobile phone?

You must have a compatible Sprint Power Vision-enabled phone and be subscribed to a Power Vision data plan. Please see Pandora on the Go for a current list of the supported Sprint phones. Also, visit www.sprint.com for more information about Sprint phones and services.

If I'm already subscribed to Pandora, do I have to pay for Pandora on my Sprint mobile phone?

As an existing Pandora subscriber, you will be charged $2.99/month by Sprint as part of your mobile phone bill instead of paying an annual subscription to Pandora. Any unused portion of the subscription you have already paid to Pandora will be refunded.

Please note that a subscription to Pandora on Sprint includes a full subscription to Pandora on the Web, which permits advertising-free listening at Pandora.com.

It's always been $2.99 for Sprint. I had it on my Upstage. I'm glad to see it's available for Instinct now!

I just downloaded the trial and while it's cool, the volume is so low that is pretty much pointless. Is there any way to up the volume?

Also, it says that you can only skip six songs per hour. Is this restriction only for the trial or does the paid subscription limit you in the same way?
