How to add 'roaming' option to the WM6.1 Touch rom?

I tried searching and remember hearing about a registry edit to re-enable the roaming option. Anyone know?

I think you also have to add this one -

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\InitProv\PhoneSett ing
change ItemCount to 3
New string: ItemName3 Value- Roaming.
New Dword: ItemValue3 Value- 3

Otherwise it doesn't stick with a soft reset. - sheureka

All, tried the reg edit tweak, and it kinda "took." prob is the phone, in "roam only" mode, never acquires a roam signal. it just continuously searches. is anyone else having this problem? any advice will be greatly appreciated!

BTW, my device is an HTC Touch, WM 6.1.

Again, tried the tweak and got the roam only option to show up, but after selecting roam only, all i get is a continuous "searching" display with no signal strength and no roaming triangle. any help will be greatly appreciated! thanks much!!!

As long as you follow the directions in the PPCgeeks forum exactly you should have no problems, i did it with resco reg editor on my touch and it works fine!

you might not have roaming coverage where you are though, try it in another place to be sure after you check that your edits are correct

Go back and make sure you did the edits in both places

Thanks for the reply!!! I used RegEdit and re-checked the tweak. It was just as published but still to no avail. I did notice that ItemName2 "Automatic" had a DWord ItemValue of "4" Is that correct?

Hi VIPRJR, just wondering whether you have solved the problem? I seem to have the same problem now. It keeps searching and cannot lock on to the local network. When I click Find Network, it shows all the local network available.

Any suggestions on how to get this to work on an HTC Snap. I have the option to roam within the menu, however the phone does not move to roaming mode. I know for a fact that there are some good towers around here for roaming...I used to force my old phone to roam. Any help that you have is appreciated! Thanks!
