Treo 800w on sale at Best Buy for $189.99

I saw that Best Buy had the Treo 800w on sale for $189.99. I took a copy of the price tag, went to the Sprint Store down the street and they price matched it.

BB is going to kill Sprint with their price on this phone. Last week it was $199.99. I know a lot of us that already purchased it at higher prices were able to get Sprint to then match it as well.

Was the $189.99 price dependent on a new 2 year contract or new line of service or anything like that? Or was it straight up $189.99???

It should be for the 22 month upgrade eligibility and or a new 2 year contract.

OK, I have 1 year left of my 2 year contract. I might have to see about signing a new 2 year contract... Look like a good phone. I have the original Moto Q right now.

I was 1 year into my contract as well and bought it originally from Sprint for $350 + $100 mail in rebate. I then emailed ecare telling them about BB price and asked if they could possibly go ahead and credit me $100 instead of dealing with the MIR and a additional $50 credit to match Best Buys price. To my surprise they did. That scenario is a hit or miss, some people got lucky and Sprint did that for them, some reps. told them to return the Sprint one and buy the Best Buy one.

Wowsers, I just purchased my 800w for $350 as well (haven't sent the rebate in yet). If only I knew about this BB deal.

I'm going to take your advice and contact ecare. Hopefully I get lucky and I can get some sort of price match instead of having to send in the rebate. That would be just lovely.

Is it in the store or on the website for BB? Also, That 189.99 is probably after a 100 dollar mail in rebate from sprint, correct?

It is in stores and at one point it was online. $189.99 is instant. They are basically giving you the $100 mail in rebate Sprint gives you instantly plus an extra $60. Sprint was giving most customers the 800w for $350 + MIR. So $250, Best Buy is giving it to people at $189.99 out the door, no mail in rebates to deal with.

You will probably get denied, but don't worry, that's just because they deny everyone.

Send in an email and you'll probably get your rebate.
