Just ordered the Treo 800W

I was able to place an order for the new Treo 800W today via Telesales.

Since I'm on a SERO plan, they asked me to provide an employee's email to upgrade my phone. I was surprised that they required the email address to upgrade, especially since I've been on SERO for well over a year.

I realize that is was an upgrade but do you know the price of the phone for a 'new' customer?

Also is the W version better than than P or is it just preference?

Last but not least Nothing is suprising with Sprint

I believe the new price is $599.

The W means it's a Windows Mobile device vs P which is the Palm OS.

I doubt you just ordered an 800w. Not saying you're lying, but I'm saying with there being 17 days left until the launch of this phone.. I highly doubt they ordered you the right phone. They've never taken 2+ week advanced orders before. I hope this does work out for you tho, I really do. But just hope for the best, and prepare for the worst.. that's all you can do.

I did order this phone today and have attached a screenshot from Sprint's Order Status website for confirmation. The phone is scheduled to be released in stores on July 13, 2008 (3 days from now).

I was eligible for a full discount so I paid $349.99 and there is a $100 mail in rebate, therefore $249.99.

two weeks? what kind of math is that? Official release date on all sprint material is July 13. You are answering a post made on July 10! That is less than three days. I ordered a 700P on the Thursday before the Sunday release a couple of years ago though a business account.

I do have my doubts though as when I called last night retention had the price and discounts ($200 final cost for out of contract and 22 month rebate eligible) but said they could not order on consumer line before Saturday.

Also OP why would you pay $600!?!

Did they require a SEP plan, that has been mentioned over at Treo Central; I sure hope not!!

Op said he ordered it through Business.

Over on Treo Central someone mentioned they were able to carry over their current plan so I highly doubt it's required. The Treo is more of a business phone but the Instinct is more of a fun phone so I think that makes sense.

I kept my SERO1250. Sprint did not even mention changing plans.

I think that is only for the Samsung Instinct. I'm sure people would be furious if they put this requirement on the 800w.

To the op,

Did they give you a tracking number or expected date of delivery?

I just placed my order through business premiere care for $349.99. They said I wasn't eligible for the $100 mail in rebate because I'm not on a $25 or more Vision plan, but that's fine with me.

Nice of you to sign on as new use just to reply to me
Actually it was harder to order through business -- and OP had stated price of $600 in earlier post. Please be accurate.

With normal resign $70 bonus it is $180.

FYI If you are buying it with new plan/line through website you will get it for $200 by simply clicking to cancel order which offers you a $50 further reduction on all handsets.
